Join Professor John O’Sullivan and Associate Professor Sean Lal as they discuss their ground-breaking research. In this webinar, you will be provided with an overview of how we plan to study potential therapeutic treatments to reverse heart failure. Heart failure is a global health problem with a mortality rate of up to 75% within 5 years of diagnosis.
We discuss The Baird Institute’s world-first trial in humans (the CardioNAD clinical trial) that aims to provide the heart with the fuel it needs to improve its energy utilisation and hence reverse heart failure. We also discuss our strategies to make new heart cells (ie. cardiac regeneration) which can improve heart function after a heart attack.
Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we will be able to purchase much needed materials to conduct the analytical aspects of our study which in turn will assist us to achieve our ultimate goal of developing a new therapy for patients with heart failure.
